StorySprout is built for the grown-up doing the buying. Here's exactly how personalization works, and what we deliberately don't do.
No child photo required
There is no photo upload in StorySprout. The illustrated character is assembled from traits a grown-up selects: skin tone, hair color, hairstyle, glasses, outfit color and an optional accessory.
Parent-controlled personalization
Every personal detail in the book comes from what you typed. Children don't have their own login, and nothing is added to a story that you didn't enter.
You review before you buy
You see the cover, title and opening page before any payment. If the story isn't right, change the profile and generate again.
Only what we need
We ask for a first name, an age and interests. Please don't add last names, school names, addresses or anything else identifying — the story doesn't need them.
Delete a profile anytime
Child profiles live in your library and can be removed. Removing a profile removes it from future generations.
Gentle by design
Stories avoid frightening peril, and there are no ads or in-story upsells aimed at your child. Content is written for roughly ages 3 to 10.
What we're not claiming
We'd rather be plain than impressive:
- • We do not hold a COPPA certification or any third-party children's privacy seal, and we won't imply otherwise.
- • We don't promise perfect security or anonymity. We collect little, but no service can promise zero risk.
- • This is an early product. Live AI story generation, card payments, PDF export, read-along audio and printed hardcover books are in development and labeled as coming soon wherever they appear.
- • Testimonials on this site are clearly marked demo samples, not real customer reviews.
